Cleveland Guardians vs Seattle Mariners — Recap

📰Game Recap

The Seattle Mariners defeated the Cleveland Guardians 5-1, securing the victory behind a dominant pitching performance from George Kirby and a crucial three-run home run by Cole Young.

Seattle broke a scoreless tie in the fourth inning when Young launched his three-run shot, giving the Mariners a lead they would not relinquish. The Guardians managed to get on the board with a single run, but Seattle's offense added two more runs later in the game to solidify their advantage.

The fourth inning proved to be the pivotal moment, as Cole Young's blast accounted for all three runs in Seattle's largest scoring frame of the game. That cushion allowed George Kirby to work effectively, as the right-hander surrendered just one earned run across six strong innings, striking out six Guardians batters.

This blend of dominant pitching and a pivotal power surge proved decisive for Seattle. The Guardians' offense, held to only one run, could not mount a challenge after the Mariners' breakthrough. After the contest, Cleveland holds a 60-66 record, while Seattle also stands at 60-66.
