📰Game Recap

The Chicago White Sox mounted a furious seven-run rally in the seventh inning to erase an early deficit and defeat the Los Angeles Angels. After trailing by four runs heading into the decisive frame, the White Sox offense erupted, hitting back-to-back home runs to take control of the game.

Los Angeles started strong, building a 3-0 lead by the second inning with early RBI hits from Teodosio and Neto. They extended their advantage to four runs in the fourth on Grissom's sacrifice fly. Chicago managed to get on the board in the fifth when Benintendi drove in Peters, making it 4-1. Soler then widened the Angels' lead back to four with a solo home run in the top of the seventh, setting the stage for the White Sox's dramatic response.

The bottom of the seventh inning proved to be the pivotal moment. Trailing 5-1, the White Sox began to chip away at the lead. Peters' RBI single cut the deficit to three, and Benintendi followed with a two-run double that brought the score to 5-4. Munetaka Murakami then delivered a three-run blast to right-center field, giving Chicago its first lead of the game. Vargas immediately followed with a solo shot to left, capping the explosive seven-run outburst and pushing the White Sox's advantage to 8-5. This massive inning completely overturned the Angels' earlier dominance, which had included a six-inning, two-run effort from starter Jack Kochanowicz.

The White Sox offense capitalized on their opportunities late in the game, turning a significant deficit into a decisive victory with one powerful inning. Despite a two-run rally in the ninth by the Angels, it wasn't enough to overcome Chicago's sudden offensive explosion. The Chicago White Sox now hold a 66-58 record, while the Los Angeles Angels fall to 49-77.
