Minnesota Twins vs Boston Red Sox β Recap
March 23, 2026 Β· JetBlue Park at Fenway South Β· View Preview
Game Recap
The Minnesota Twins defeated the Boston Red Sox 9-6, a victory largely fueled by a decisive five-run outburst in the fourth inning that established a commanding lead.
While the Red Sox offense saw contributions, Boston's Ceddanne Rafaela delivered a strong individual performance, collecting three hits including a home run and driving in a run. Despite Rafaela also scoring two runs, Boston's collective efforts at the plate ultimately proved insufficient to counter the Twins' pivotal rally.
The true turning point of the game was Minnesota's five-run fourth inning, which marked the largest single-inning scoring effort by either team. This concentrated burst of offense provided crucial separation, overshadowing a start from Twins pitcher Bailey Ober, who allowed four earned runs across 4.1 innings. Despite Ober's outing, Minnesotaβs bats provided the necessary firepower to dictate the gameβs direction.
Ultimately, it was the Twins' ability to deliver a decisive offensive blow that determined the outcome, securing a lead that the Red Sox could not overcome. The Minnesota Twins now hold a 61-65 record, while the Boston Red Sox stand at 66-59.
