The rally continued as Rengifo followed with a single to left, bringing home Cronenworth. Machado then singled to right, driving in Tatis Jr., and France capped the big inning with a sacrifice fly to right, scoring Rengifo. This four-run outburst, the largest single inning of scoring in the game, pushed the Padres to a 6-2 lead. On the mound, Randy Vasquez was instrumental in maintaining control, pitching seven innings and allowing just two earned runs.
