Cardinals pitcher Andre Pallante was instrumental in stifling the Padres' offense, delivering a stellar performance with 7.0 innings pitched, striking out six batters while allowing both of San Diego's earned runs. His effort ensured the Cardinals maintained their slim advantage, ultimately securing the 3-2 victory and moving closer to the .500 mark.
