The Minnesota Twins overcame two separate deficits, including a two-run hole in the late innings, to defeat the St. Louis Cardinals 5-4. Minnesota scored three unanswered runs across the seventh and eighth innings, culminating in a go-ahead score that secured the narrow victory.

St. Louis initially broke the scoreless tie in the fourth when Burleson launched a solo home run to right field. The Twins quickly responded in the bottom half of the inning, with Caratini hitting a two-run shot that brought Bell home and gave Minnesota a 2-1 lead. Two innings later, JJ Wetherholt put the Cardinals back on top with a two-run homer, driving in Church, to make it 3-2. Wetherholt then extended the Cardinals' advantage in the seventh with an RBI single, bringing Fermín home for a 4-2 lead.

The Twins mounted their decisive comeback in the bottom of the seventh. With two outs, Buxton singled to left, scoring Keaschall and cutting the deficit to 4-3. Lewis followed immediately with another single, scoring Kreidler and knotting the game at four apiece. The Twins then completed their rally in the eighth inning when Kreidler doubled to center, plating Keaschall for the decisive run. Despite a strong performance at the plate from JJ Wetherholt, who accounted for three of St. Louis's four RBIs, the Cardinals could not hold their late-game lead.

Minnesota's late-inning offense proved resilient, enabling them to repeatedly chip away at the Cardinals' lead and ultimately secure a tight victory. The Twins now stand at 57-57, while the Cardinals fall to 55-58.
