Atlanta Braves vs Miami Marlins — Recap

📰Game Recap

The Miami Marlins delivered an overwhelming 12-0 shutout victory against the Atlanta Braves on Friday, combining a potent offensive outburst with dominant pitching. Miami secured an early lead and then dramatically extended it with a total of eleven runs across the fourth and fifth innings, ensuring the Braves had no opportunity to mount a response.

Mack initiated the scoring for Miami in the bottom of the second inning with an RBI groundout. The Marlins then erupted for five runs in the fourth to break the game open, beginning with a two-run single from Mack. Edwards followed with an RBI infield single, before Hicks doubled to center, driving in two more runs and widening the lead to 6-0.

The decisive blow came in the bottom of the fifth inning, when Miami exploded for six additional runs. Mack drew a bases-loaded walk to plate another run, setting the stage for Javier Sanoja's 375-foot grand slam to left field. Edwards then capped the offensive barrage with a 397-foot solo homer to left center. Starting pitcher Max Meyer was masterful for the Marlins, striking out six batters over six shutout innings to completely stifle the Braves' offense.

Miami's offense and pitching coalesced for a complete game performance that left no doubt about the outcome. The Marlins improved their record to 65-63 on the season, while the Braves dropped to 74-53.
