Los Angeles Dodgers vs San Diego Padres — Recap

📰Game Recap

The San Diego Padres secured a narrow 1-0 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers, thanks to a first-inning solo home run and a masterful pitching performance that stifled the Dodgers' offense throughout the contest.

The Padres took the lead quickly when Miguel Andujar launched a solo shot to left center field in the bottom of the first inning. The 376-foot blast gave San Diego a 1-0 advantage. That single run would prove to be all the Padres needed as the game remained a tightly contested pitchers' duel, with the Dodgers unable to break through and change the score for the remainder of the evening.

The decisive factor in the low-scoring affair was the dominant pitching from Michael King, who delivered seven shutout innings for the Padres. King struck out nine batters and did not allow an earned run, effectively shutting down the potent Dodgers lineup and preserving Andujar's early blast. No other scoring occurred after the first inning, highlighting the complete control exerted by San Diego's pitching staff.

Ultimately, the Padres prevailed by combining an opportunistic early swing with a commanding performance on the mound that gave the Dodgers no opportunities to score. San Diego now stands at 68-59, while Los Angeles holds a 75-52 record.
