πŸ“°Game Recap

The Toronto Blue Jays erased a four-run deficit in a single inning to defeat the Baltimore Orioles. After falling behind 4-0 in the top of the fifth, Toronto rallied for five runs in the sixth inning to seize control of the game, holding on for the win.

Baltimore initially built a substantial lead, starting when Cowser homered to right center in the fifth inning. Alexander then doubled to center, bringing Holliday home. The Orioles extended their advantage further moments later with a two-run blast from Taylor Ward to left field, making it 4-0. The Blue Jays offense, however, mounted a fierce response in the bottom of the sixth.

The turning point came in the bottom of the sixth inning when Toronto exploded for five runs. Pinango ignited the rally with a solo home run to right. Valenzuela followed with a ground out that scored SΓ‘nchez, narrowing the gap to two. Okamoto's single brought home Clement, before GimΓ©nez doubled to right, tying the game as Okamoto crossed the plate. The go-ahead run scored when Lukes reached on an infield single to second, bringing GimΓ©nez home and putting Toronto ahead 5-4. An insurance run was added in the eighth when Valenzuela homered to right. While Orioles starter Shane Baz pitched effectively through 5.2 innings, allowing only one earned run, the decisive sixth inning proved to be too much for Baltimore to overcome.

The Blue Jays' relentless sixth-inning surge ultimately proved insurmountable for the Orioles, as Toronto completed a dramatic comeback victory on their home field. Following the contest, the Orioles' record stands at 61-64, while the Blue Jays improved to 62-65.
