Detroit Tigers vs Colorado Rockies — Recap

📰Game Recap

The Detroit Tigers outslugged the Colorado Rockies in a high-scoring affair, prevailing 11-8 thanks to a powerful offensive display centered around Wenceel Perez's two home runs and five runs batted in. Detroit's lineup consistently applied pressure, accumulating 11 runs over the course of the game.

The game developed into a back-and-forth contest, with both teams finding ways to score. While Colorado's starting pitcher, Tomoyuki Sugano, offered a respectable outing allowing just two earned runs over 4.1 innings, the Tigers proved relentless against the Rockies' pitching staff overall, preventing Colorado from ever truly pulling away.

The decisive turning point for the Tigers came in the fifth inning when they erupted for four runs, their most productive frame of the afternoon. This crucial burst of offense, combined with Perez's individual heroics at the plate, created the necessary separation in a game that saw the Rockies also score eight runs. Detroit's ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities ultimately dictated the outcome.

The Tigers' bats simply proved too potent for the Rockies to contain, delivering a victory forged through sustained offense and timely power hitting. Following this win, Detroit moves to 61-64 on the season, while Colorado's record now stands at 50-75.
