Despite Webb's impressive eight-inning outing, during which he allowed only one earned run and struck out two, the Giants' offense, hampered by key injuries and general struggles, could not generate enough consistent pressure, managing just a single run. Drew Gilbert's two hits, including the game-tying RBI, were San Francisco's best offensive contributions, but they were not enough to overcome the late deficit.

Detroit's timely hitting in the tenth inning proved to be the difference in a tight, low-scoring affair, allowing them to escape with a hard-fought win on the road. The Tigers now hold a record of 58-60, while the Giants' record stands at 49-69.
