📰Game Recap

The Miami Marlins edged out the New York Mets 2-1 on Saturday, prevailing in a low-scoring contest that highlighted both teams' pitching strengths.

Offense was at a premium for both sides, with the Marlins managing to push across two runs against New York's pitching staff. For the Mets, Brandon Waddell provided a strong relief outing, striking out three over two shutout innings, keeping his team within striking distance.

Jakob Marsee proved pivotal for Miami, scoring both of the Marlins' runs despite recording only one hit. His contributions on the basepaths were enough to secure the narrow victory, effectively negating Waddell's solid performance for the Mets, who were unable to generate sufficient offense to back him up.

Ultimately, Miami's ability to manufacture runs when opportunities arose in a defensive battle proved decisive. The Marlins improved their record to 65-62, while the Mets dropped to 57-70.
