Milwaukee Brewers vs San Diego Padres — Recap

📰Game Recap

The San Diego Padres staged a dramatic comeback victory over the Milwaukee Brewers, winning 7-5 thanks to a decisive six-run outburst in the eighth inning that erased a four-run deficit.

The Brewers had established control early, building a 5-1 lead for much of the game. Andrew Vaughn contributed significantly to their offense, launching a home run that accounted for two of Milwaukee's runs. For much of the contest, Milwaukee's pitching staff contained the Padres, limiting San Diego to just a single run through the first seven frames.

The game dramatically shifted in the bottom of the eighth. San Diego's bats came alive, scoring six runs to suddenly turn a 5-1 Brewers advantage into a 7-5 Padres lead. Despite Easton McGee's solid relief outing for Milwaukee, striking out two in his one inning of work, his performance earlier in the game couldn't stem the Padres' late-inning tide.

This surge of offense proved insurmountable for the Brewers, as the Padres closed out the game to secure a memorable come-from-behind win. The Padres now stand at 68-58 on the season, while the Brewers' record moved to 77-49.
