📰Game Recap

The New York Yankees launched an early offensive barrage and never relented, cruising to a dominant 15-1 victory over the Kansas City Royals. From the opening frame, New York established control, stacking runs to quickly build an insurmountable lead that the Royals could not challenge throughout the contest.

The Yankees wasted no time putting runs on the scoreboard, beginning with Cody Bellinger’s leadoff homer in the top of the first inning. An RBI single from Ben Rice soon followed, before Amed Rosario blasted a two-run shot to give New York a four-run advantage. Anthony Volpe added a solo homer in the second, and the offense exploded again for four more runs in the third inning, highlighted by Bellinger’s two-run single, pushing the lead to 9-0. Bobby Witt Jr. briefly put the Royals on the scoreboard with a solo home run in the bottom of the third, but it was their only tally of the night.

New York’s relentless attack, anchored by two separate four-run innings in the first and third, definitively determined the game’s direction. Rosario proved instrumental, collecting four hits, including two home runs, while driving in four runs and scoring three times himself. Further extending their advantage, the Yankees recorded additional solo homers from Trent Grisham in the seventh and Jazz Chisholm Jr. in the eighth. On the mound, Cam Schlittler delivered a strong outing for the Yankees, limiting the Royals to just one earned run over six innings while striking out six batters.

Ultimately, the Yankees’ overwhelming offensive firepower and a stellar pitching performance from Schlittler proved too much for Kansas City, ensuring a lopsided contest where the outcome was rarely in doubt. The win moves New York’s record to 70-55, while the Royals fall to 51-75.
