Cardinals starter Hunter Dobbins pitched effectively, allowing just one earned run over five innings while striking out six, but the Phillies' initial run off him due to an error set the tone, and their offense later found ways to extend the lead against the bullpen.

Ultimately, Philadelphia's ability to capitalize on early opportunities and build a resilient lead proved enough to fend off the Cardinals' determined late-game rally. The Phillies secured the upset victory, improving their record to 64-56, while St. Louis fell to 59-60.
