📰Game Recap

The Pittsburgh Pirates secured a decisive 6-1 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday, fueled by timely power hitting and a strong relief effort that kept the home team’s offense in check.

Pittsburgh managed to put six runs on the board throughout the contest, an output that proved more than sufficient against a St. Louis lineup that struggled to generate consistent offense. The Cardinals, meanwhile, were held to just a single run, never mounting a significant threat to erase the Pirates' lead.

Konnor Griffin delivered a crucial two-run home run for the Pirates, providing a significant boost to their scoring. On the pitching side, Hunter Barco was instrumental in preserving the advantage, tossing three scoreless innings in relief. During his outing, Barco allowed no earned runs and struck out three batters, effectively silencing any potential rally from the Cardinals.

Ultimately, the combination of Pittsburgh's consistent scoring and dominant relief pitching proved too much for St. Louis to overcome. The Pirates' strong all-around performance secured a convincing road win. With the result, Pittsburgh moves to 62-65, while St. Louis drops to 64-62.
