Colorado initially took an early lead with a run in the first inning. The Rays then erupted for five runs in the third, taking a 5-1 advantage following Liam Hicks' grand slam. However, the Rockies immediately answered in the bottom of the same inning, as Moniak's three-run homer contributed to a four-run frame that tied the game. Colorado then seized the lead in the fourth on a two-run blast by Castro.

Despite Gabriel Hughes of the Rockies recording seven strikeouts over 5.1 innings, he surrendered five earned runs, contributing to Tampa Bay's burst in the third. Yet, that initial surge of offense from the Rays was quickly nullified by Colorado's immediate response. The decisive rally began in the ninth inning when Walls and Díaz scored on Aranda's single, knotting the score at seven apiece. In the 11th, Williamson scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch from Frasso, before Caminero added an insurance run with a single to center that brought home Díaz.

Tampa Bay's relentless offense and late-game resilience ultimately proved decisive, as they battled back from multiple deficits to secure a hard-fought road victory. The Rays improved to 67-46, while the Rockies fell to 45-69.
