๐Ÿ“ฐGame Recap

The Tampa Bay Rays mounted a late-game comeback, erasing a two-run deficit to defeat the Washington Nationals. A pair of solo home runs and a decisive two-run shot in the seventh inning propelled the Rays to victory.

Washington initiated the scoring in the third inning when Wood's sacrifice fly brought Tena home. However, Tampa Bay quickly answered in the bottom half as Dรญaz doubled to right field, scoring Walls. The Nationals regained the lead in the fourth on Crews' double that scored Abrams, then extended their advantage to 3-1 in the sixth inning with Abrams' solo home run to right center. Yet, the Rays immediately responded, with Vilade launching a 436-foot solo blast to center field in the bottom of the sixth, narrowing the gap.

The pivotal moment arrived in the bottom of the seventh inning. With a runner on, Jonny DeLuca connected for a 396-foot home run to left field, driving in Dรญaz and putting the Rays ahead for good. DeLuca's two-run shot capped a strong offensive night for him, finishing with two hits, including the game-winning homer, and two RBI. While Nationals starter Nick Martinez conceded all three runs for Washington across six innings, his team's offense failed to add insurance runs, leaving the door open for the Rays' power display.

The Rays' ability to generate timely power, particularly in the later innings, proved to be the difference-maker, overcoming the Nationals' earlier lead. Tampa Bay moves to 65-45 on the season, while Washington falls to 55-57.
