The Cleveland Guardians completed a late-inning comeback to defeat the Los Angeles Angels, overcoming an early three-run deficit with a two-run rally in the final frame.

Los Angeles started strong, getting on the board in the bottom of the first when Neto scored on a throwing error by pitcher Cantillo. The Angels extended their lead in the second inning, with Lowe scoring on a hit-by-pitch and Guzman crossing the plate on a sacrifice fly by Trout, making it 3-0. Cleveland began to chip away in the fifth when Travis Bazzana hit a sacrifice fly to left field, bringing Rocchio home to put them on the board.

The Guardians continued to close the gap in the eighth inning, as Lowe singled to left, allowing Bazzana to score and cut the deficit to a single run. The decisive moment came in the top of the ninth when Kwan's ground-rule double brought Halpin home to tie the game. Moments later, Bazzana delivered his second sacrifice fly of the game, scoring Rocchio and putting Cleveland ahead for the first time.

Despite an early struggle and falling into a three-run hole, the Guardians' persistent offense ultimately secured their come-from-behind victory, validating their status as pregame favorites. Cleveland now stands at 68-66, while the Angels fall to 52-82.
