๐Ÿ“ฐGame Recap

The Minnesota Twins needed a walk-off hit in the 10th inning to finally put away the Colorado Rockies, who staged a dramatic late-game comeback after trailing by seven runs. Despite holding a commanding lead for much of the game, the Twins nearly squandered it in the ninth before securing a hard-fought victory at home, fulfilling their pregame favored status.

Minnesota established control early, scoring two runs in the first inning on a Clemens home run that also brought home Buxton. The Twins extended their lead to 4-0 in the second with a Lee two-run shot. Their offense continued to produce in the fifth, adding three more runs with a Buxton double and a Bell double, making it a 7-0 game that seemed well out of reach for Colorado.

The Rockies, however, refused to quit, mounting a stunning eight-run rally over the final two innings. They began chipping away in the eighth with three runs, including an RBI single from Rumfield. The ninth inning saw a five-run outburst, the largest scoring inning of the game, highlighted by a game-tying two-run homer from Jake McCarthy and a go-ahead two-run blast from Goodman. This heroics put Colorado in front, 8-7, but the Twins responded with a Buxton single in the bottom of the ninth to tie the game once more. Earlier, Twins pitcher Taj Bradley had largely stifled the Rockies, holding them to two earned runs while striking out seven over 7.0 innings.

After weathering Colorado's remarkable comeback and avoiding a devastating ninth-inning collapse, the Twins ultimately prevailed. Lewis delivered a decisive single in the 10th inning, driving in Fedko to secure the hard-earned win for Minnesota, who improved to 57-57. The Rockies, despite their spirited rally, fell to 45-69.
