Game Recap
The Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Colorado Rockies 5-1, propelled by a strong pitching performance from Max Scherzer and a decisive three-run rally in the late innings.
Scherzer was masterful, holding the Rockies to just one earned run over six innings while striking out four batters. Colorado's lone offense came from Hunter Goodman, who connected for a solo home run against Scherzer. Toronto's hitters, meanwhile, chipped away before breaking through decisively.
The pivotal moment arrived in the seventh inning when the Blue Jays broke the game open with their largest scoring inning of the contest, pushing across three runs. This late offensive surge provided critical breathing room for Toronto and solidified their lead. Goodman's solo shot remained the only offense Colorado could muster all afternoon.
Ultimately, Toronto's combination of Scherzer's dominant outing and a crucial seventh-inning breakout proved too much for the Rockies' anemic attack. The Blue Jays now stand at 62-65, while the Rockies fall to 50-75.
