Miami Marlins vs Los Angeles Dodgers — Recap

📰Game Recap

The Miami Marlins secured a narrow 3-2 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers, consistently edging ahead in a tight contest and using a late-inning rally to break a tie and claim the deciding run.

The Marlins opened the scoring in the second inning with a solo home run by Hicks. The Dodgers quickly answered in the bottom half when Call's infield single brought Muncy home, evening the score. Miami recaptured the lead in the fifth inning on a solo blast from Esteury Ruiz. However, Los Angeles once again pulled even in the sixth, as Rushing singled home Tucker.

The game remained deadlocked until the eighth inning when the Marlins finally pushed across the decisive run. Sanoja delivered an infield single to second base, allowing Edwards to score and giving Miami a 3-2 advantage. This persistent offensive effort stood out against Dodgers' starter Tyler Glasnow, who struck out nine batters over 5 2/3 innings despite yielding Miami's first two runs. Miami's ability to generate just enough offense in key moments proved crucial.

Ultimately, the Marlins prevailed by capitalizing on their opportunities to consistently take and then retake the lead in a closely fought game, culminating in the critical go-ahead run in the eighth. The Miami Marlins improved to 65-64, while the Los Angeles Dodgers fell to 77-52.
