Milwaukee Brewers vs Boston Red Sox — Recap

📰Game Recap

The Boston Red Sox edged out the Milwaukee Brewers in a low-scoring affair, securing a narrow 3-2 victory thanks to a pivotal three-run sixth inning that provided all of their offense for the afternoon. This decisive burst, coupled with strong pitching, allowed Boston to hold on against a persistent Milwaukee club.

Both offenses were held in check through the early innings, as neither team managed to push a run across until the middle frames. The Red Sox then broke the deadlock dramatically in the sixth, plating three runs in quick succession to take a commanding lead. While the Brewers managed to respond with a pair of runs later in the game, they were unable to fully overcome Boston's timely surge.

The critical turning point came in the bottom of the sixth inning when the Red Sox offense finally broke through after being held scoreless. Trevor Story delivered a key hit, driving in two of Boston's three runs during the decisive frame, providing a much-needed cushion. On the mound, Garrett Crochet largely stifled the Brewers' lineup through 6.1 innings, striking out seven batters while surrendering only two earned runs, ensuring Milwaukee's limited offense could not fully erase the deficit.

Ultimately, Boston's ability to capitalize on one significant offensive opportunity, coupled with a dominant outing from their starter, proved to be the difference in the tightly contested game. The Red Sox improved their record to 67-58, while the Brewers fell to 77-49.
