📰Game Recap

Cleveland edged out Kansas City in a pitchers' duel, securing a 2-1 victory propelled by a standout performance from Gavin Williams. The Guardians' right-hander effectively silenced the Royals' bats, allowing only a single run to cross the plate in a tightly contested affair.

Kansas City's lone run came on a solo home run from Carter Jensen, a rare breakthrough against Williams, who otherwise controlled the game. While the specific sequence of Cleveland's scoring plays is not detailed, the Guardians managed to push across two runs against Kansas City's pitching, establishing just enough of a lead to hold on for the win.

The game's narrative was undeniably shaped by Williams' command on the mound. He worked 5.2 innings, tallying an impressive eight strikeouts while surrendering only one earned run. This masterful outing prevented Kansas City from generating sustained offense, allowing Cleveland's minimal run support to stand as the difference-maker.

Ultimately, the Guardians prevailed by capitalizing on a superb pitching effort that kept the Royals in check throughout the game. Cleveland now holds a 61-65 record, while Kansas City drops to 51-75.
