Game Recap
Detroit mounted a dramatic comeback, securing a walk-off victory over Milwaukee fueled by solo home runs in the eighth and ninth innings. After surrendering a lead earlier in the game and then again in the seventh, the Tigers rallied to reclaim the win at home in thrilling fashion.
Riley Greene put the Tigers on the board early, launching a two-run homer to left center in the bottom of the first inning. Milwaukee began to chip away at the lead when SΓ‘nchez doubled to right, bringing Contreras home in the fourth. The Tigers later extended their advantage to 3-1 in the sixth after Dingler grounded into a fielder's choice, scoring Keith.
Milwaukee's offense erupted for three runs in the top of the seventh, marking their largest scoring inning and briefly seizing control of the contest. Perkins' two-run double to left tied the game, scoring Matos and SΓ‘nchez, before Hamilton singled to left to drive in Perkins and give the Brewers a 4-3 lead. However, Detroit's power bats quickly negated that advantage; Jones connected for a solo home run to left in the bottom of the eighth, knotting the score once more and setting the stage for the dramatic finish.
Ultimately, Detroit's ability to respond with powerful swings in critical late-game moments secured their victory. Spencer Torkelson's walk-off blast epitomized the Tigers' resilience and clutch hitting throughout the evening. The Tigers improved their record to 61-64, while the Brewers now stand at 77-49.
