Despite stellar pitching from Cam Schlittler and two early runs driven in by Paul Goldschmidt, the Yankees could not hold on to their advantage, as the Brewers chipped away and delivered decisive hits in the game's later stages.

New York initially took the lead in the first inning when Goldschmidt launched a 419-foot solo home run to left center. The first baseman then extended the Yankees' lead in the fourth, hitting an infield single to third that scored Rosario for a 2-0 advantage. Milwaukee broke its scoreless drought in the bottom of the seventh with Bauers' 420-foot solo homer to right center, and the Brewers tied the game in the eighth on William Contreras' RBI single to left, bringing home Turang.

The Brewers' resilience was on full display in the extra frames. After McMahon singled to center in the top of the tenth, putting the Yankees back ahead 3-2, Milwaukee wasted no time answering. Chourio delivered an infield single to shortstop, allowing Mitchell to score and re-tie the game. With runners on base, Contreras hit a sacrifice fly to right field, scoring Rengifo and securing the dramatic walk-off win.

Milwaukee's persistent offense and ability to deliver clutch hits in key moments ultimately proved to be the difference, as they overcame New York's strong start to claim victory. The Brewers improved their record to 78-48, while the Yankees dropped to 69-56.
