Seattle Mariners vs Los Angeles Angels — Recap

📰Game Recap

The Seattle Mariners overcame a scoreless regulation to defeat the Los Angeles Angels 3-1 in extra innings. Seattle's pitching staff, spearheaded by Bryan Woo, stifled the Angels' offense, allowing the Mariners to push across three crucial runs in the tenth inning for the decisive advantage.

Bryan Woo was the star of the early going, delivering a masterful performance for Seattle. He held the Angels scoreless through seven dominant innings, recording six strikeouts and scattering just a few hits. The game remained a tense pitcher's duel throughout the regulation nine innings, with neither team able to break through against the opposing bullpen after Woo's departure.

The deadlock finally broke in the top of the tenth inning when Seattle's offense ignited. Josh Naylor delivered a key blow, driving in two runs to give the Mariners a lead they would not relinquish. The three-run frame proved to be the pivotal moment, creating enough separation for Seattle to withstand a late Angels' tally in the bottom half of the inning.

Ultimately, the Mariners’ combination of a stellar starting pitching effort and timely hitting in the game's most critical moment allowed them to secure the hard-fought road victory. Following this result, the Seattle Mariners improved their record to 60-66, while the Los Angeles Angels fell to 49-77.
