Tampa Bay's offense jumped ahead quickly, plating four runs in the second inning. Mesa Jr. singled to left to bring home the game's first run. Fortes then executed a sacrifice bunt to score Mateo, followed by an RBI single from Díaz. Aranda capped the scoring with a sacrifice fly, giving the Rays a 4-0 lead. Jake Burger immediately responded for Texas in the bottom of the second with a solo home run to left center, cutting the lead to three. The Rays extended their advantage slightly in the fourth inning when Caminero hit a sacrifice fly, making it 5-1.

However, the Rangers ignited their offense in the bottom of the fourth, completely erasing the deficit with a four-run outburst. Burger launched his second home run of the game, a two-run shot to center, bringing Texas within two runs. Foscue followed with a two-run double to right, which scored O'Hoppe and Duran, leveling the score at 5-5. The momentum continued into the fifth inning, as a single from Díaz (TEX) scored Burger, giving the Rangers their first lead. Duran then singled to right, plating O'Hoppe and pushing Texas's advantage to 7-5.

While Tampa Bay managed to narrow the gap in the seventh inning on a single from DeLuca, bringing the score to 7-6, Corey Seager provided crucial insurance in the eighth with a solo home run. The Rangers' persistent hitting and timely power display, highlighted by Burger's two blasts, proved too much for the Rays to contain after the early innings. Their comeback victory improved Texas's record to 71-73, while Tampa Bay fell to 85-58.
