Atlanta Braves vs Seattle Mariners — Recap

📰Game Recap

The Mariners rallied from a four-run deficit in the sixth inning to secure a narrow victory over the Braves. After Atlanta had extended its lead with a flurry of home runs, Seattle responded with a five-run outburst in the bottom half of the same frame, sealing the win.

The Braves initially took the lead in the first inning when Baldwin launched a solo home run to center. The game remained a tight 1-0 affair until the top of the sixth, when Atlanta’s offense exploded. Albies, Olson, and Riley each connected for solo shots, remarkably hitting three consecutive home runs to push the lead to 4-0. However, the Mariners quickly answered in the bottom of the sixth, erasing the entire deficit.

That dramatic shift occurred entirely in the sixth inning. After the Braves strung together three solo homers, seemingly taking firm control, the Mariners’ bats ignited in an even more impactful way. Luke Raley’s three-run blast to right center, which also scored Arozarena and Canzone, immediately cut the lead to a single run. Moments later, Crawford delivered a decisive two-run homer, bringing Garver home and putting Seattle ahead for the first time in the game and completing the five-run inning. Logan Gilbert, despite giving up four earned runs over six innings, kept his team within striking distance for their late offensive heroics.

Seattle's resilient offense, sparked by those back-to-back home runs in the sixth inning, proved the difference, as they managed to overcome a significant deficit created by Atlanta's power display. The Mariners now hold a 60-66 record, while the Braves stand at 74-51.
