πŸ“°Game Recap

The St. Louis Cardinals secured a 6-3 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers, steadily building an early lead and effectively managing their advantage against a late-game surge. St. Louis's offense provided consistent run support throughout the contest, which was coupled with strong pitching that largely suppressed Milwaukee's bats until the final frame.

St. Louis began its scoring in the bottom of the second inning when Wetherholt singled to center, bringing home Winn for the game's first run. The Cardinals significantly extended their advantage to 4-0 in the fourth, courtesy of Herrera's double to center that cleared the bases, scoring Church, Wetherholt, and PagΓ©s. Milwaukee eventually broke through in the sixth, as Rengifo singled to left to drive in Bauers. However, the Cardinals answered back with insurance runs in the seventh and eighth innings, first on an RBI single from Winn, then another from Wetherholt, pushing their lead to 6-1.

The decisive blow came in the bottom of the fourth, where St. Louis’s three-run outburst created a comfortable buffer that Milwaukee struggled to overcome. Kyle Leahy provided a solid start for the Cardinals, navigating 5.1 innings while striking out five and allowing just one earned run, effectively neutralizing the Brewers’ offense during critical middle frames. Although Brice Turang provided a bright spot for Milwaukee with a ninth-inning two-run homer that scored Chourio, his individual effort was not enough to mount a full comeback against the consistent pressure applied by the Cardinals.

Ultimately, the Cardinals' methodical offensive approach, coupled with effective pitching that contained Milwaukee for most of the contest, proved to be the winning formula. The St. Louis Cardinals now stand at 65-61, while the Milwaukee Brewers move to 77-49.
