The Texas Rangers overcame an early deficit with a steady performance, eventually pulling away from the Baltimore Orioles thanks to a decisive three-run home run from Corey Seager in the eighth inning. Despite falling behind in the first, Texas's starting pitching stifled Baltimore's offense, allowing the Rangers to seize and maintain a narrow lead before breaking the game open late.

Baltimore initially grabbed the lead in the top of the first inning when Holliday launched a solo home run to right field. However, Texas quickly responded in the bottom of the second, tying the game on Carter’s fielder's choice that scored Duran. Just moments later, Burger’s infield single, combined with a throwing error by Orioles shortstop Henderson, allowed Carter to score, giving the Rangers a 2-1 advantage. That slender lead held through a tense middle stretch of the game.

What ultimately swung the outcome was a combination of Jacob deGrom's dominant start and Seager's power. DeGrom was superb for the Rangers, pitching 5.0 innings while striking out nine and allowing just one earned run, effectively neutralizing the Orioles after their initial homer. The largest scoring inning occurred in the bottom of the eighth, when Corey Seager's 418-foot blast to right center scored Osuna and Langford, extending the Rangers' precarious one-run lead to a comfortable four-run margin and effectively putting the game out of reach.

Ultimately, a strong pitching performance from deGrom, coupled with a critical late-game offensive surge from Seager, allowed the favored Rangers to secure the victory. They now stand at 59-58 on the season, while the Orioles fall to 56-61.
