Chicago Cubs vs Colorado Rockies — Recap

📰Game Recap

The Colorado Rockies captured a narrow 4-3 victory over the Chicago Cubs, leaning on a key offensive performance from Braxton Fulford. Fulford's bat proved pivotal in a low-scoring affair, driving in two of Colorado's four runs.

The contest remained tight throughout, with neither team able to pull away. Fulford opened the scoring for the Rockies with an RBI, then later provided a crucial solo home run that factored heavily into Colorado's slim advantage. The Cubs managed three runs, but their offense struggled to string together enough hits to overcome the Rockies' modest output.

Fulford's two-hit day, which included his home run and two runs batted in, highlighted the Rockies' ability to generate just enough offense. On the mound for Chicago, Ben Brown delivered a strong outing, fanning six batters while allowing only one earned run across four innings. Despite Brown's efforts to keep the Cubs in the game, the rest of the pitching staff allowed enough damage, and Chicago's lineup could not fully capitalize, leaving them one run short.

Ultimately, the timely hitting by Fulford provided the decisive edge, allowing the Rockies to emerge victorious in a game decided by a single run. The Rockies now hold a 51-74 record, while the Cubs' record moved to 72-54.
