Colorado Rockies vs Miami Marlins — Recap

📰Game Recap

The Miami Marlins edged out the Colorado Rockies in a tight 4-3 contest, primarily fueled by Liam Hicks' three-run home run and a durable outing from starting pitcher Eury Perez. Miami's offense mustered just four runs on the day, but a key hit proved enough to secure the victory.

Eury Perez kept the Marlins competitive throughout the contest, allowing all three Colorado runs across his seven innings on the mound. He struck out eight, consistently working out of jams to limit the Rockies' scoring opportunities. On the offensive side, Liam Hicks provided the decisive blow for Miami, collecting three of the team's four runs batted in with his lone hit of the game.

The game remained a low-scoring affair, with neither team able to generate significant offensive momentum outside of isolated moments. Hicks' three-run homer was the singular offensive highlight for Miami, proving to be the difference-maker as the Marlins otherwise struggled to string hits together. The Rockies, despite having runners on base against Perez, could only push across three runs, leaving them short in the tight matchup.

Ultimately, Miami prevailed due to its ability to maximize a critical offensive opportunity combined with a strong, extended start from Perez, who largely contained Colorado's bats. This balanced effort allowed the Marlins to secure a hard-fought victory. Following the win, Miami moved to 65-63, while the Rockies fell to 50-77.
