The New York Mets scored ten unanswered runs to overcome an early deficit against the Detroit Tigers, ultimately securing a decisive victory. After falling behind by two runs in the second inning, New York steadily chipped away at Detroit's lead before pulling away in the later frames.

Detroit jumped ahead early in the second inning when Dillon Dingler homered to left, followed by a sacrifice fly from Torkelson that scored Pérez, giving the Tigers a 2-0 advantage. The Mets quickly responded in the bottom of the frame, cutting the lead to one on an Alvarez fielder's choice. An inning later, Vientos singled home Bichette to tie the game at two, and Benge's single in the fourth put New York ahead for good.

The Mets broke the game open with a three-run sixth inning, aided by two Detroit errors. Bichette's fielder's choice allowed Ewing and Torrens to score, while Workman's throwing error on the play also advanced Benge, who then scored on a Soto groundout, extending the lead to 6-2. New York added two more in the seventh on an Ewing triple and a Torrens single, before two more runs in the eighth, again benefiting from a fielding error by pitcher Vanasco and a walk to Ewing that scored Vientos. Mets starter Freddy Peralta delivered a strong outing, going 6.0 innings while striking out seven and allowing only two earned runs, effectively shutting down the Tigers after their initial burst.

Persistent offense and capitalizing on the Tigers' defensive miscues proved to be the winning formula for the Mets, who maintained their scoring through the late innings while holding Detroit scoreless after the second. New York now stands at 57-69, while Detroit falls to 60-65.
