The Seattle Mariners delivered a commanding offensive performance to defeat the Houston Astros 10-2, pulling away decisively after an early tie. Despite falling behind, Seattle responded with eight unanswered runs, spearheaded by a four-run fourth inning that proved to be the turning point of the game.

Randy Arozarena initiated the scoring for Seattle with a two-run homer in the top of the second inning, giving the Mariners an early lead. However, Houston swiftly erased the deficit, with J.P. Shewmake's RBI single in the bottom of the second and Jon Singleton Walker’s RBI double in the third inning knotting the score at two. The Mariners quickly reasserted control, embarking on a scoring spree that the Astros could not answer.

The decisive blow came in the top of the fourth when Dominic Canzone launched a grand slam, breaking the 2-2 deadlock and propelling Seattle to a 6-2 advantage. This significant inning was part of a broader offensive surge that saw the Mariners consistently pile on runs. Arozarena was a central figure in Seattle's attack, collecting four hits, scoring four runs, and driving in three. On the mound, Bryan Woo held the Astros in check, fanning nine batters over six strong innings while allowing only two earned runs.

Seattle’s combination of stellar pitching and relentless offensive pressure, particularly after the game was tied early, ensured they maintained control through the latter half of the contest. The Mariners now hold a 60-66 record, while the Astros stand at 63-63.
