Milwaukee Brewers vs Detroit Tigers — Recap

📰Game Recap

The Milwaukee Brewers leveraged an early lead and a devastating seven-run eighth inning to secure a commanding 12-4 victory over the Detroit Tigers. Milwaukee's offense consistently put pressure on Detroit pitching throughout the afternoon, never allowing the home team to mount a serious challenge.

The Brewers quickly established control in the second inning when Frelick's single drove in the game's first run, and Brice Turang followed with a two-run single to put Milwaukee up 3-0. Detroit managed to get one run back in the fourth on a double play, but the Brewers extended their advantage in the seventh. Turang delivered another RBI single, and Contreras added one of his own, pushing the score to 5-1.

The contest then fully broke open in the eighth inning, where Milwaukee sent 12 batters to the plate en route to scoring seven runs. Mitchell's triple and Rengifo's subsequent single ignited the rally, bringing the score to 7-1. Perkins was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded for an RBI, followed by Turang's sacrifice fly, which gave him his fourth RBI of the game. Contreras added another run-scoring hit, and Bauers tacked on an RBI double, turning a comfortable lead into an insurmountable one.

Ultimately, the Brewers' potent lineup proved too much for the Tigers, as they capitalized on opportunities early and delivered a knockout blow late. The relentless offensive attack ensured Milwaukee maintained control from the second inning onward. Following the victory, Milwaukee's record stands at 78-48, while Detroit drops to 60-65.
