Despite the Brewers tying the score on two separate occasions, the Twins were always able to regain the lead, never trailing after the first inning.

Minnesota opened the scoring in the bottom of the first when Clemens doubled to right, driving in Martin. Milwaukee quickly responded in the second inning with Frelick’s double, bringing home Bauers and tying the game. The Twins reclaimed the lead in the third, as Clemens doubled again, and a throwing error by shortstop Ortiz allowed both Jeffers and Clemens to score, making it 3-1. The Brewers then used the long ball to draw even, with Mitchell homering in the fourth and Yelich adding another solo shot in the fifth to knot the game at three.

The critical turning point arrived immediately after Yelich’s game-tying homer. Ryan Jeffers launched a solo home run to left field in the bottom of the fifth, instantly putting the Twins back on top 4-3. Jeffers’ offensive contribution was significant, also having scored on the error-aided play in the third. An insurance run came in the eighth inning when Caratini hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Keaschall, which proved crucial as the Brewers mounted a final push in the ninth. Bauers singled to right, scoring Turang, but Milwaukee’s rally ended there.

Minnesota's ability to repeatedly answer Milwaukee's scoring threats and secure a vital insurance run in the eighth ultimately decided the outcome. The Twins’ resilience ensured they never relinquished their lead after taking it back in the third, holding off the Brewers' persistent offense to secure the win. The Twins now stand at 61-65, while the Brewers’ record moved to 77-49.
