๐Ÿ“ฐGame Recap

The Tampa Bay Rays overcame an early deficit with a decisive five-run surge across the middle innings to defeat the Miami Marlins. After falling behind by a run in the third inning, the Rays took control of the game with a pivotal three-run fourth, ultimately holding on for the win despite a late push from Miami. Junior Caminero started the scoring for the Rays with a solo home run to left field in the bottom of the first, giving Tampa Bay an initial lead. The Marlins responded in the top of the third when Edwards singled home Caissie, tying the game, and then Lopez followed with a single that scored Edwards, putting Miami ahead 2-1. This lead was short-lived, however, as the Rays mounted a rally of their own in the bottom of the fourth. The turning point came in the bottom of the fourth inning, when Walls cleared the bases with a triple to center field, driving in DeLuca, Mullins, and Fortes to put the Rays back on top 4-2. This three-run outburst, which was Tampa Bay's largest scoring inning, gave them a lead they would not relinquish. Yandy Dรญaz extended the lead further in the fifth with a solo home run. Caminero then added another RBI to his tally in the sixth, drawing a walk that scored Mullins, solidifying the Rays' advantage. While Stowers brought the Marlins closer with an RBI single in the eighth, it was not enough to overcome the gap created by Tampa Bay's productive middle innings. The Rays' ability to respond quickly after surrendering the lead, particularly with the three-run triple by Walls, proved crucial in securing their victory. Drew Rasmussen pitched effectively for Tampa Bay, allowing only two earned runs over 5.1 innings to maintain the lead through the early innings. The Miami Marlins' brief lead in the third was quickly erased, and they couldn't generate enough offense to catch up. The Tampa Bay Rays improved their record to 75-49, while the Miami Marlins dropped to 64-62.
