Milwaukee Brewers vs Washington Nationals — Recap

📰Game Recap

Milwaukee secured a decisive 6-1 victory over Washington, maintaining a lead from the first inning and extending it consistently through strong pitching and timely hitting. The Brewers never trailed, steadily building a cushion that the Nationals were unable to overcome.

The scoring began early when Milwaukee's Mitchell crossed the plate in the top of the first on a passed ball by Nationals catcher Millas. William Contreras then widened the gap to 2-0 in the third, driving in Hamilton with a single. In the fifth inning, the Brewers added two more runs; Turang scored on a fielder's choice by Rengifo, and Black doubled to left to bring home Contreras. Washington finally got on the board in the bottom of the seventh, as Abrams scored on a groundout by House, but Milwaukee answered back quickly in the eighth when Contreras singled again, scoring both Frelick and Perkins.

Jacob Misiorowski's dominant performance on the mound was instrumental in controlling the game's flow. He stifled the Nationals' offense for 5.1 innings, striking out eight batters and allowing no earned runs. This outstanding start kept Washington at bay while the Brewers chipped away offensively. William Contreras was a driving force at the plate, collecting four hits, scoring a run, and driving in three crucial runs across multiple innings, including the pivotal two-run single in the eighth that solidified Milwaukee's lead.

The Brewers' combination of stellar pitching and consistent offensive pressure ensured they held firm control throughout the contest, preventing Washington from mounting any serious challenge. Milwaukee now stands at 78-48, while Washington's record fell to 60-67.
