πŸ“°Game Recap

The Los Angeles Angels defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 7-3, seizing control with a four-run rally in the bottom of the seventh inning after Toronto had erased an earlier three-run deficit. Rookie Nolan Schanuel was at the forefront of the Angels' offense, collecting four runs batted in, including the go-ahead hit.

Los Angeles established an early advantage, beginning with Adell's sacrifice fly in the third inning that brought home O'Hoppe. Schanuel then extended the lead with a solo home run to right center in the fourth. Mike Trout added another solo shot in the fifth, launching a 428-foot blast to left field, building a comfortable 3-0 lead through the first five innings, supported by Jose Soriano's five scoreless frames.

Toronto, however, mounted a fierce comeback in the top of the seventh. Heineman’s groundout got the Blue Jays on the board, followed by Lukes’s RBI double that scored GimΓ©nez. Clement then singled to center, bringing home Lukes and tying the game at three runs apiece. Yet, the Angels immediately countered in the bottom half of the frame. Schanuel’s double to left field cleared the bases, driving in Moncada, Trout, and Adell, and Grissom followed with an RBI single to right, plating Schanuel for the Angels' largest inning of the day.

The Angels' resilience, demonstrating a quick and powerful response to Toronto's tying efforts, ultimately proved the difference in the contest. Their ability to deliver a decisive blow after relinquishing the lead secured the victory. The Blue Jays now stand at 61-66, while the Angels improved their record to 50-76.
