The Arizona Diamondbacks overcame an early deficit, exploding for a decisive seven-run inning to defeat the Cleveland Guardians. After trailing by two runs through four innings, Arizona ignited its offense in the middle frames, ultimately turning a tight contest into a comfortable lead they would not relinquish.

Cleveland initially seized control in the first inning when Hoskins launched a two-run homer to center field, bringing DeLauter home. The Guardians held their 2-0 advantage until the fifth, when Arizona began to chip away. A fielding error on an infield single by Geraldo Perdomo allowed Waldschmidt to score, and later in the inning, Gabriel Moreno's fielder's choice brought Carroll across the plate, tying the game at 2-2.

The game dramatically swung in the Diamondbacks' favor in the top of the seventh. Perdomo broke the tie with a solo home run to right field. The scoring continued as Vargas singled to plate Marte, followed by McCann's double that scored both Arenado and Vargas. Corbin Carroll then capped the massive seven-run frame with a three-run blast to center, scoring McCann and Waldschmidt, giving Arizona a commanding 9-2 lead. Arenado added another solo homer in the eighth, though Cleveland mounted a spirited five-run rally in the bottom of the inning, highlighted by DeLauter's solo shot and a two-run single by Steven Kwan, narrowing the gap before Arizona secured the win.

The Diamondbacks' explosive offensive production, particularly their pivotal seven-run outburst in the seventh, proved too much for the Guardians to overcome. Geraldo Perdomo led the charge with a standout performance, collecting four hits, including a home run, and driving in three runs. The Diamondbacks improved to 59-52, while the Guardians fell to 56-56.
