Atlanta Braves vs Seattle Mariners — Recap

📰Game Recap

Atlanta secured a tight 3-2 victory over the Seattle Mariners, with Matt Olson providing the decisive blow via a go-ahead solo home run in the ninth inning. The late-game heroics allowed the Braves to overcome an early deficit and claim the narrow win on the road.

The Mariners initially took the lead in the bottom of the third, as Crawford launched a two-run homer to right field that also brought Garver across the plate. Atlanta quickly answered in the top of the fourth; Dubón's double to right scored both Albies and Olson, evening the contest at two runs apiece. The score remained locked for the next four innings, highlighting strong pitching performances from both bullpens.

Bryce Elder was a key component for Atlanta, striking out nine Mariners over six innings while surrendering just two earned runs, effectively minimizing Seattle's early offensive burst. This steady performance kept the Braves within striking distance. Olson, who had already crossed the plate once, then broke the stalemate with his 412-foot blast to center field in the final frame.

Atlanta's resilience in erasing an early deficit and delivering a pivotal hit in a high-leverage situation ultimately determined the outcome. This hard-fought victory moves the Braves to 75-50, while the Mariners' record drops to 59-67.
