The Tampa Bay Rays mounted a late-game rally, scoring twice in the eighth inning to overcome a deficit and secure a 4-3 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays. Despite Toronto establishing leads throughout the contest, the Rays persistently battled back, ultimately sealing the win on their home field. Toronto initially grabbed an advantage in the first inning when Kazuma Okamoto launched a solo home run to right center. An inning later, Giménez added to their lead with a single that scored Varsho. Tampa Bay began to chip away in the third on an RBI single by Aranda, then pulled even in the fourth when Fraley scored on a double play groundout by Feduccia. The Blue Jays briefly retook the lead in the fifth inning, as Pinango's single brought Giménez home, making it 3-2. The decisive turn came in the bottom of the eighth inning. With Walls on base, Díaz hit an RBI single to center field, knotting the score at three runs apiece. Just moments later, Williamson delivered another crucial hit, singling to center to drive in Díaz and give the Rays their first lead of the game. For the Blue Jays, starter Kevin Gausman delivered a solid outing, allowing just two earned runs over six innings, but his efforts were ultimately not enough to hold off the persistent Rays offense. Tampa Bay's ability to respond to every Toronto lead and then capitalize in a critical late inning proved to be the difference in the closely contested matchup. The victory improved the Rays' record to 75-49, while the Blue Jays fell to 61-66.
