Baltimore Orioles vs Cleveland Guardians — Recap

📰Game Recap

Baltimore orchestrated a stunning late-game rally, overcoming a four-run deficit with a six-run eighth inning to secure a 6-4 victory over Cleveland. The Orioles' explosive offensive frame completely erased what had been a dominant pitching performance by the Guardians, showcasing their resilience on the road.

Cleveland's offense finally broke the scoreless tie in the bottom of the seventh inning. Daniel Schneemann launched a 407-foot grand slam to right field, scoring Steven Kwan, Estevan DeLauter, and José Ramírez to put the Guardians ahead 4-0. However, Baltimore responded immediately in the top of the eighth, beginning their decisive rally.

The Orioles' six-run outburst proved to be the turning point, completely erasing the Guardians' lead. It began when Rodríguez's sacrifice fly scored Ward. Moments later, Wilson doubled to left, bringing home Alonso and Beavers, cutting the deficit to a single run. The comeback culminated with Jackson's three-run home run to left center, a 390-foot shot that scored Taveras and Wilson, giving Baltimore a 6-4 lead that held for the win. This offensive explosion nullified an otherwise stellar performance from Cleveland starter Tanner Bibee, who pitched six shutout innings with five strikeouts.

Ultimately, Baltimore's ability to capitalize on a single inning proved decisive, as their relentless eighth-inning surge flipped the game on its head, stealing a victory from the Guardians. The Orioles now hold a 62-63 record, while the Guardians fall to 60-66.
