After falling behind, Minnesota surged ahead and maintained their lead through the remainder of the contest, holding off a late Baltimore threat. Baltimore initially took the lead in the first inning when Holliday's fielder's choice allowed Henderson to score. Minnesota quickly countered in the bottom half of the frame, with Bell singling to right to plate Larnach. The Orioles then extended their advantage significantly in the third inning, as Dylan Beavers launched a three-run homer to right field, pushing Baltimore ahead 4-1.
