The five-run surge was punctuated by Bregman’s second home run of the game, a two-run blast to left field, extending the Cubs' lead to 9-4. Bregman delivered his third and final home run in the eighth, a two-run shot to left center that also brought home Suzuki, stretching the advantage to 12-5 and decisively sealing Chicago's command. Though Washington's Tena added a solo home run in the ninth, the Nationals' offense proved unable to match the Cubs' power surge, particularly Bregman’s dominant performance.
