The Cleveland Guardians, entering play with a 54-53 record, pulled off a hard-fought upset against the favored Cincinnati Reds (49-55) today, securing a 6-5 victory. The underdogs wasted no time making their presence felt, delivering a decisive blow in the very first inning that would prove to be the game's turning point. Kyle Manzardo stepped up and launched a 369-foot home run to right field, a grand slam that brought home Ramírez, DeLauter, and Bazzana, immediately rocketing the Guardians to a 4-0 lead.

Cincinnati, despite the early deficit, began to chip away. Stuart got the Reds on the board with a 416-foot solo home run to center in the bottom of the third. The fourth inning saw a dramatic shift in momentum as the Reds exploded for four runs to take the lead. Stephenson doubled to left to score Lowe, then Arroyo singled to center, bringing Stephenson home. The rally was capped by Stuart's second clutch hit, a single to left that plated both Arroyo and De La Cruz, suddenly giving Cincinnati a 5-4 advantage.

The Guardians, however, quickly responded to the Reds' surge. In the top of the fifth inning, DeLauter hit a sacrifice fly to left, allowing Ramírez to score and knot the game back up at 5-5. The tie held until the eighth inning, when Cleveland managed to push across the decisive run. Rocchio laid down a sacrifice bunt to the pitcher, which was enough to send DeLauter home and put the Guardians back on top, 6-5.

Although the Reds' Chase Burns settled down after the rocky start, delivering a strong five innings of work with four strikeouts and only one earned run allowed, it was the Guardians who ultimately prevailed. Manzardo's four-RBI performance, highlighted by his monumental first-inning grand slam, powered Cleveland to a compelling road win and completed the upset.
