Kansas City Royals vs Seattle Mariners — Recap

📰Game Recap

Kansas City defeated Seattle 4-1, largely on the strength of a three-run fourth inning that erased an early deficit, coupled with a dominant pitching performance from Kris Bubic.

Seattle initially broke the scoreless tie in the bottom of the third inning when Naylor grounded into a fielder's choice, allowing Rivas to cross the plate. However, the Royals quickly answered in the top of the fourth; Witt Jr. scored on a walk to Jensen, knotting the game. Caglianone then grounded into a fielder's choice, bringing Pasquantino home and giving Kansas City the lead. Collins further extended the advantage with a sacrifice fly that scored Perez.

The Royals' decisive three-run fourth inning immediately turned the tide after falling behind. Isaac Collins contributed significantly to this rally, first with a sacrifice fly that gave Kansas City the lead, and then by adding an insurance run in the sixth with an RBI double that scored Caglianone. However, the Mariners' bats were primarily silenced by Kris Bubic, who delivered a stellar outing. He allowed just one earned run over seven innings of work, striking out seven batters and ensuring Seattle could not mount a response after the Royals took control.

Kansas City's combination of timely hitting and dominant pitching ultimately paved the way for their road victory. The Royals improved to 52-74, while the Mariners fell to 59-67.
