Los Angeles Dodgers vs Colorado Rockies — Recap

📰Game Recap

The Colorado Rockies came from behind twice to defeat the Los Angeles Dodgers 9-6 on Tuesday night, securing the win with a pivotal late-game offensive surge.

Los Angeles initially built a 3-0 lead through the top of the fourth inning, with Freeland, Ohtani, and Ward each contributing RBIs. Colorado began to chip away at the deficit in the bottom of the fourth on a Rumfield single, then completely erased it in the fifth with a solo home run from Karros and an RBI single by Julien, tying the game at three. The Dodgers briefly reclaimed the lead in the sixth when Freeland singled to drive in a run.

The decisive swing occurred in the bottom of the seventh inning when Mickey Moniak launched a two-run home run to right-center, putting the Rockies ahead for good. They extended their lead further on an RBI single by Freeman later in the frame. The Rockies then solidified their advantage in the eighth with a three-run outburst, their largest scoring inning of the night, capped by Julien's two-run single and Moniak's third RBI of the game on a fielder's choice. Dodger starter Michael Lorenzen allowed three earned runs over five innings, keeping his team within striking distance.

Colorado's persistent offense in the middle and late innings, particularly Moniak's impactful performance, ultimately proved too much for Los Angeles to overcome, despite a two-run rally in the ninth. The Colorado Rockies now stand at 51-75, while the Los Angeles Dodgers move to 75-52.
