Los Angeles Dodgers vs Los Angeles Angels — Recap

📰Game Recap

The Los Angeles Dodgers showcased a relentless offensive attack, overwhelming the Los Angeles Angels with a series of late-inning rallies to secure a dominant 15-2 victory. What began as a steady scoring effort escalated significantly as the game progressed, with the Dodgers piling on runs throughout the final frames.

Los Angeles got on the board early in the first inning when Smith's sacrifice fly brought home Shohei Ohtani. The score remained tight until the top of the sixth, when the Dodgers broke through with a five-run outburst. Walks to Pages and Muncy, followed by T. Hernández being hit by a pitch, forced in three runs. Call then delivered a two-run single to left, extending their lead to 6-0. The Angels responded in the bottom half, with Adell's double scoring Neto and Soler.

While the five-run sixth inning provided initial separation, the Angels' immediate two-run answer kept the score at 6-2. The turning point truly arrived in the eighth and ninth innings, as the Dodgers repeatedly capitalized on opportunities. Ohtani was instrumental in these surges, first tripling to right to plate two runs in the eighth, then scoring himself on an Angels' throwing error. Betts followed that with a solo home run. In the ninth, the Dodgers added five more runs, fueled by a fielding error and another impactful hit from Ohtani, a three-run double to right. Dodgers starter Justin Wrobleski delivered a solid performance, limiting the Angels to two earned runs over six innings.

The Dodgers' ability to sustain offensive pressure, coupled with crucial hits and several Angels' defensive miscues, allowed them to turn a competitive game into a lopsided affair. Their bats simply never cooled, ensuring a comprehensive win. The Los Angeles Dodgers improved to 75-51, while the Los Angeles Angels fell to 49-77.
